This is the first week of homework, which
usually means it's a little confusing until we work out the bugs:)
Here are a couple we've already discovered:
- The dates on the reading calendars are from another year. That error escaped several teachers and the copy aides at the end of last year. I will replace the calendars as soon as possible:) The calendars do end on Fridays, so that students can count weekend minutes toward their 100 min/per week if they want to.
- The Computation Game on Pearsons had negative numbers in it, which it did not have the last time I checked it. I've taken that game off of the assignment list since it's not third grade curriculum:) Once again, please let me know if your login doesn't work. The main goal of this week's Pearsons assignment is to make sure everything works.
- This first packet is rather "parent-heavy." Thank you for your patience with that.
- Students do not need to complete assignments on the actual day assigned. The schedule on the front of their packets is a way to break down assignments into manageable daily portions, but they can really be done anytime during the week. Homework should take no longer than 30 minutes per night (including reading) and should be made to fit around your family's schedule.
- Homework folders come home each Tuesday and are due back to school each Friday.
