Talking Walls

We recently read an inspiring photo essay called, "Talking Walls." It showed how murals artistically express themes such as liberty, reaching for your dreams, cultural heritage, and various emotions. Students were assigned to groups who each chose a theme, as well as a way to express that theme artistically. Students also chose different mediums such as paint, chalk, and marker, and wrote their own captions.  Look for our murals hanging in the 3rd grade halls!

"BUBBLES OF FUN" Bubbles of Fun shows signs of people using their freedom to have fun. It brings families together and lets everyone in. What do you like to do for fun?

"NATURE IS THE KEY TO LIFE"  If we don't have nature, there's nothing we can do. We shouldn't litter because we wouldn't be alive if the trees or water weren't here.

"NEVER GIVE UP"  This boat of animals is trying to get to the Mystical Island, which contains rubies, jewels, and crystals. A variety of nature things are trying to prevent them from getting there, but they will achieve their goal by never giving up!

"NEVER GIVE UP"  Never give up your dream, whether it be soccer, taekwondo, skateboarding, or football. You can become a champion if you never give up!

"IMAGINATION . . ."  is whatever you want it to be! Imagination is endless. Can you find a chabunion (a chameleon-bunny-dragon), a dogging bird, an octa-devil, a purple monster, or a circle of colors? Dream on!
